Virtual caregiving is an important trend in all of healthcare. Closely related to virtual platforms is social media. Taking into account the very essence of social or socialization, social media should be an important part of caregiving, but maintaining privacy prevents many caregivers (continuing care & home health caregivers) from using social media with their care recipients.

Caregiver Companions encourage using social media for cognitive functioning (like i.e., reminiscing). Caregiver Companions are supported by a network which both, maintains privacy and provides listening and recording utilities that help many care recipients who have trouble reading and/or typing. StoryCares Activity Pages are aptly named to encourage and apply story-based activities within caregiving relationships and then apply stories and (other things related to activities) to social media using the StoryCares network that maintains privacy and provides listening and recording options.

  • Comment sample: I always looked forward to carving out pumpkins and adding candles to pumpkins. Lit candles inside pumpkins was always so cool! To this day, I love pumpkin pie. By season’s end or after Thanksgiving I am tired of pumpkin pie, but it’s delicious during from Sept – Nov. Thank you for the opportunity to post comments. I look forward to posting many more comments. I love that I can listen to comments.
